Are you thinking: “I'm Not Ready!”
"I think it's a great idea, but I'm not ready to move to Wake Robin yet!" Sound familiar? "Not ready yet" is a frequently heard phrase in all retirement community marketing offices, and for a good reason. Moving to a retirement community is one of life's most important decisions, involving a spectrum of practical and psychological considerations. Postponement frequently seems to be the only possible course of action when dealing with some of the considerations in retirement.
Most residents of Wake Robin agree that once the decision and move are made, they have a tremendous sense of relief and satisfaction. Concerns for the future are greatly reduced because services and assistance are available. Possessions have been pared down to a manageable degree, home maintenance burdens are a memory, and new friendships and enjoyment are everywhere.
There are a number of significant reasons why persons who are "not ready yet" may want to reconsider their position:
Space may not be available when one is ready to move forward. 100% of Wake Robin's homes are occupied and most units have a waiting list.
Entrance fees will go up on an annual basis.
Sometimes when a person decides that he or she is "ready," it is too late. To be accepted as a resident at Wake Robin, an applicant must be able to live independently and not currently be at risk for needing long term health care.
Investigating Wake Robin and the Life Care Contract begins by visiting and touring our community with an Admissions Counselor and residents. Prior to that we recommend the reading of our information packet. We then encourage you to make an appointment or attend an Open House. You will find this process of investigation to be valuable as you consider your retirement options. |
