Board of Directors
The Wake Robin Board of Directors brings a range of backgrounds, skills and experience to formulate policies that will assure competent, caring management of the community. They provide sound strategic planning for future direction and current focus in the spirit of the Wake Robin Founders and of the Wake Robin mission.

Jonathan Aldrich
Mr. Aldrich is currently the Facilities Energy Manager at IBM's Essex Junction Semiconductor Manufacturing Plant. He has over thirty years of facilities management experience including planning, engineering, maintenance and operations. Mr. Aldrich served four years in the United States Air Force in Base Engineering and served on the Essex Junction Zoning Board of Adjustment. He was President of the Board of Directors of the Boys and Girls Club of Burlington from 1993-1996. Mr. Aldrich received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Lowell Technological Institute and is a registered Professional Engineer.
Debby Bergh (Director Emeritus 2009)
Ms. Bergh is an organizational development consultant who specializes in strategic planning, Board development and meeting facilitation for nonprofit organizations. She consulted with the Wake Robin Residents' Association in the campaign for the Aquatic Center. Her work is primarily with community based organizations in Vermont, upstate New York, and the Upper Valley. Ms. Bergh has served on numerous nonprofit boards including Planned Parenthood of Northern New England, Planned Parenthood Federation of America, the Visiting Nurse Association, the United Way ofChittenden County, HomeShare Vermont, Champlain College and the Vermont Ethics Network. Ms. Bergh is a graduate of Smith College with a BA in Political Science and a minor in History of Art.
Thomas C. Campbell (Director Emeritus 2008)
Mr. Campbell has held various positions in IBM to include Design Engineer, Manager for Building Maintenance, Security Services and Facilities Design and Construction. He is also a retired Captain in the United State Naval Reserve. Mr. Campbell is a former board member of the Salvation Army, YMCA, YWCA, and the Vassar Brothers Hospital Building Committee. He has been a member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers, National Rifle Association, Retired Officers Association and the Burlington Mayor’s Youth Council. Mr. Campbell is a graduate of Clarkson University.
Leigh Cole, Esq.
Ms. Cole is a partner at Dinse, Knapp & McAndrew, P.C., a law firm located in Burlington, Vermont. Prior to this she had been an attorney with the firm of Gravel and Shea, P.C. She is also a former attorney with the firm of O’Connell & Aronowitz, P.C. and Legislative Analyst in the New York State Assembly in Albany, New York. Her community service includes,Chair of the Far Post Soccer Club Board of Directors; Director of Leadership Champlain, a division of the Lake Champlain Regional Chamber of Commerce; and formerly Director of Lake Champlain Land Trust. She graduated from Cornell University and Albany Law School of Union University.
Stephen P. Foster
Steve Foster, Chief Operating Officer of the Edlund Corp., has volunteered on the director level of a long list of community health services organizations over the last several decades including Blue Cross/Blue Shield of Vermont, The Vermont Health Plan, the Vermont Employers Health Alliance as well as the United Way of Chittenden County. Steve graduated from UVM with a Bachelors of Arts. He lives in Charlotte with his wife Meg.
Michael G. Furlong, Esq. (Director Emeritus 2004)
Mr. Furlong is President of the Burlington law firm Sheehey Furlong & Behm P.C. He is former Chair of the Wake Robin Board of Directors and has served on the boards of several non-profit organizations. He is a former President of the Chittenden County Bar Association, and is Board Chair of Merchants Bank and board member of Merchants Bancshares, Inc. Mr. Furlong is a graduate of Middlebury College and Cornell Law School.
Mary Jane Winde Gentry (Director Emeritus 2000)
A former secondary school faculty member, Mrs. Gentry chaired the State's Children and Family Council for Prevention Programs, Vermont Children’s Trust Foundation, her local school board, and is currently a member of the board of Shelburne Farms. She served for six years on the Regional Planning Commission and the board of the Greater Burlington Industrial Corporation and for many years on the Champlain College Board. Mrs. Gentry acted as Coordinator for the Founding Committee of Wake Robin from 1984 to 1988. She is a graduate of Swarthmore College.
Stokes Gentry, M.D. (Director Emeritus 2002)
Dr. Gentry is a retired pediatric allergist, who was formerly in private practice and a professor at UVM Medical School. He has served as President of the medical staff of Fletcher Allen Health Care, and as Chairman of the Vermont Chapter of the Academy of Pediatrics. A resident of St. George, he has served as Chair of the Planning Commission and as Town Moderator. Dr. Gentry was on the board of the Nature Conservancy of Vermont. He served as Chair of the Board of Directors of Wake Robin from its inception in 1984 through 2000. Dr. Gentry is a graduate of Swarthmore College and Temple Medical School.
Gerald Hornung
Mr. Hornung is a retired partner in the NYC investment banking firm, Wertheim & Co. He was also CEO of the United Methodist Pension Fund, Evanston, IL. He has held many trusteeships including, United Methodist Reporter Foundation, Dallas, TX, United Methodist Higher Education Foundation, Nashville, TN, Garrett Evangelical United Methodist Seminary, Evanston, IL, Asbury Seminary, Wilmore, KY and Green Mountain College, Poultney,VT. Directorships have included: JMB Institutional Real Estate, Chicago, IL, Merten's House, Woodstock, VT and many others. Mr. Hornung received a B.A. and an LL.B from the University of Oklahoma and attended the New York University Graduate School of Business on a Wertheim scholarship.
Douglas Hyde
Mr. Hyde is chairman of Teljet, Inc., a Vermont telecommunications company, and a director of LPA Design, Inc. He is past president and CEO of Green Mountain Power Corporation and Green Mountain Energy, and he was director of Vermont Electric Power Company and Vermont Yankee Nuclear Power Corporation. He has served on several local boards and was for a number of years chairman of the board of Fletcher Allen Health Care. He brings financial expertise to the Wake Robin Board as a member of its Finance Committee and presently chairs Wake Robin’s strategic planning committee. Mr. Hyde is a graduate of Hamilton College and Boston University School of Law.
Kate Lampton
Ms. Lampton was most recently executive director of the Champlain Valley Greenbelt Alliance. She previously served as Director of Shelburne Planning and Zoning for nine years and as Hinesburg town planner for three years. Her volunteer service includes board membership on the Charlotte Land Trust, past Chair of the Charlotte Planning Commission, past member of Chittenden County Regional Planning Commission, and former board member of Lake Champlain Housing Development Corp. Ms. Lampton is a graduate of the University of Vermont.
R. James McKay, M.D. (Director Emeritus 2006)
Dr. McKay, a retired Pediatrician, was Chair of the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Vermont for 33 years and, until recently, remained active in teaching and in medical editing. He is a former President of the medical staff of Fletcher Allen Health Care, and has served on the boards and/or the medical advisory committees of a number of voluntary health organizations in Vermont. He is a former President of the American Academy of Pediatrics, and remains active in its affairs. Dr. McKay graduated from Princeton University and Harvard Medical School.
Gretchen B. Morse (Director Emeritus 2006)
Ms. Morse joined the United Way in 1991 after a distinguished career in State Government. She was Secretary of the Vermont Agency of Human Services from 1985 to 1991. The Agency of Human Services includes six departments providing health and social services. In her capacity as Secretary, she served six years on the Vermont Hospital Data Council. Ms. Morse served in the Vermont Legislature as State Representative from 1977-1985, and was Chair of the Health and Welfare Committee (1983-85), Chair of the Education Committee (1981-83). She was Vice-Chair of the National Council of State Human Services Administrators of the American Public Welfare Association from 1990-1991. Presently, she is a member of the Burlington Rotary Club, and a Director of the Board of Stratevest/Banknorth Group. She received a Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Vermont.
Patricia P. Motch, Vice Chair
Ms. Motch's career includes the Visiting Nurse Association, Director of Development and Community Relations 1991-2002; Trinity College of Vermont, Adult Admissions 1989-1991; John Carrol University, Cleveland, Ohio, Assistant to the Dean, Graduate School 1987-1989. Volunteer service includes The Vermont Women's Fund. Ms. Motch was a Founding Board Member for VANPO (Vermont Alliance of Nonprofit Organizations) and Madison-Deane Initiative - Resources for Quality End-of-Life Care. Former board memberships include Visiting Nurse Association, Stern Center for Language and Learning, VNA of Cleveland, Chair. Ms. Motch graduated from Duke University with a major in psychology and John Carroll University, in Cleveland, with a M.Ed. in guidance and counseling.
David Provost
Mr. Provost is Senior Vice President of Finance and Administration at Champlain College in Burlington. At Champlain College he has executive oversight of Finance, Human Resources, Campus Planning and Physical Plant, Information Technology, Safety and Security and the Campus Event Center. He is the former CFO and CEO of Skis Dynastar, North America, and a former CPA manager, Deloitte and Touche, Boston. Mr. Provost's volunteer service includes serving as a current board member of Society of Saint Edmunds, Saint Michael's College, current board member of Boys & Girls Club of Burlington, and a former board member of Snowsports Industries of America. Mr. Provost is a graduate and recipient of an Honorary Doctorate from Saint Michael's College.
Mildred Reardon, M.D.
Dr. Reardon is at the University of Vermont College of Medicine and is the Director of the Freeman Medical Scholars Program. From 1971-1998 she was in private practice as a General Internist and Oncologist at Aesculapius Medical Center in South Burlington.From 1993- 2007 she served as Associate Dean for Primary Care at the UVM College of Medicine. Her work has included helping to start the Vermont Program for Quality in Health Care, and starting the Vermont Area Health Education Centers Program. She has served as Medical Director of the Chittenden County Hospice Program and board member of the Visiting Nurse Association. Currently she is president of the Vermont Medical Society Education and Research Foundation. Dr. Reardon is a graduate of Northeastern University and received her M.D. from the University of Vermont College of Medicine. She also did post-graduate studies at Albert Einstein/Bronx Municipal Hospital Center in NYC and at UCLA.
Helen Riehle
Ms. Riehle is currently the Executive Director for the Vermont Program for Quality in Health Care. She formerly served an eight-year term as Chittenden County State Senator, focusing primarily on health care issues. She is also a former Chittenden County State Representative and a public Middle School teacher. Her volunteer service includes directorships on the Regional Advisory Board at UVM, the Center for Information Therapy, and Vermont Public Television. Ms. Riehle is also a former trustee for the University of Vermont and Burlington College. She is a graduate of the University of Vermont.
Kerin Stackpole, Esq., Chair
Ms. Stackpole is a partner with Bergeron, Paradis & Fitzpatrick in Burlington, VT. Kerin is an honors graduate of the Washington College of Law, American University and of Wheaton College, Norton, Massachusetts. Before returning home to Vermont in 1994, Kerin practiced law in Washington, D.C., where she concentrated in employment and business law. She has been involved in civil litigation and arbitration on a wide rangeof labor, employment, and business issues. In addition to practicing law, Kerin also teaches. She designed a “Gender and the Law” class for the University of Vermont and taught it for nearly 10 years. She has taught at The Catholic University of America and The American University, and she has lectured at Georgetown University’s law school. Kerin also regularly designs and presents training programs for businesses and management personnel on labor and employment law issues. Kerin is a regularly featured presenter for commercial training programs such as Council on Education in Management and Lorman Educational Services. Community service has always been a responsibility that Kerin has enjoyed. She has served on numerous Boards, including those of Wheaton College, Wake Robin Corporation, Visiting Nurses Association of Chittenden and Grand Isle Counties, Stern Center for Language and Learning, Ethan Allen Homestead and Mater Christi School. Kerin has also enjoyed the opportunity to teach Confirmation Preparatory Classes at St. Catherine of Sienna parish in Shelburne. She currently resides in Shelburne with her partner, Maria McGrath, and their lovely and energetic daughter.
Amy Wright
Ms. Wright has been the Director of Development at Cathedral Square Corporation from 2002 to the present. She has had 30 years of experience in non-profit housing development, working with Lake Champlain Housing and as Assistant Director of Housing for the city of Burlington. In the area of community service, she was a founding member of the Burlington Community Land Trust, board member of Richmond Housing, Inc., Preservation Trust of Vermont, and Preservation Realty Holdings. Ms. Wright graduated from Cornell University with a B.S. in Human Ecology.
