Wellness

Wake Robin has just launched its new “wellness” initiative! Starting June 1st, all residents can take part in weekly group exercise classes at no charge. The new system is enticing newcomers to try out aquatics, stretch, strength and conditioning and yoga classes for the first time. It also gives residents who are already participating even more incentive to keep fit.

We all know that physical activity has many measurable benefits: stronger muscles, increased bone density, lower blood pressure, reduced stress, and increased energy. In addition to improved well-being, laughter, fun, and the prospect of learning something different are things that really get residents excited to try something new!

Aquatics ClassThe expanded offerings came after a year of planning by a staff and resident committee. They studied the wide variety of existing programming that feeds the body, mind and soul of residents-- from evening programs on climate change to performances by world-class musicians, from keeping bees to woodworking—and everything in between.

The new wellness initiative builds on this commitment to resident well-being by making more programs more accessible to more people, and it’s exciting to see the response.
