The Wake Robin “myth busters.”

Residents Nancy and Sam give talks about the preconceptions people have about their community. They say the most common myth is, “I could never afford Wake Robin.”

“My career was in social services, and my husband was a teacher,” Nancy says. “This community is affordable for middle-income families.”

At Wake Robin, notes Sam, over one-third of your entrance fee and monthly fee may be tax-deductible. “When I look at everything — really everything — that I spent on living expenses at my home, it comes out very, very close to my monthly fee here. And here I know I’ll never be a burden to my children. That is so important to me.”

Sam still teaches part-time at Yale, and serves on several nonprofit boards and public commissions. “Wake Robin doesn’t become your life,” he says. “You bring your life to Wake Robin.” See how your monthly expenses compare with Wake Robin’s. What does it cost to live at Wake Robin?
