Receptionist

Employment Status: 20 hours/week – Evenings

Wake Robin seeks a part-time receptionist to welcome residents and guests to our community. The receptionist is responsible for receiving guest and visitors, providing assistance or information relevant to the community, managing a multi-line phones system, as well as general office duties.  The successful applicant will have a high school diploma, or equivalent, and a minimum of 2-years of experience in a similar position in an environment with a high degree of public interaction.

Wait Staff

Employment Status:  Full-Time (6:00AM – 2:00PM) and Part-Time Evenings Available

Wake Robin, Vermont’s premier continuing care retirement community is adding members to our team of Dining Room Wait Staff. This is a perfect opportunity for individuals with the time and drive to begin their working experience, or for professionals who wish supplement their current career endeavors.

Experience as a server is preferred but not required. We will train applicants who demonstrate strong customer service skills and a desire to work with an active population of seniors.

Cook

Employment Status: Full-Time Evenings

Wake Robin, Vermont’s premier continuing care retirement community is adding members to our team of Cooks. Wake Robin provides a fine dining experience with a focus on farm to plate freshness, and a work environment that is hard to find in the restaurant industry.

Our cook will have experience producing high quality soups, sauces and entrees from scratch, demonstrate experience in all aspects of cooking from grilling to sautéing, and strong attention to the quality of food consistency quality and delivery.

Kitchen Assistant

Employment Status: Full-Time Evenings

Our Dishwasher will perform a variety of services in the kitchen area such as dishwashing, basic food prep, linen prep, food storage, general kitchen cleaning and, as assigned, they may also perform bus services in the main or auxiliary dining rooms. This shift is full-time, with weekends included.

Nurse Manager

Employment Status: Full-time Evenings

Wake Robin, Vermont’s premiere retirement community, seeks a skilled Nurse Manager for our 5-star rated health center. Wake Robin provides high quality nursing care in a fast paced residential and long-term care environment, while maintaining a strong sense of “home”.

The Nurse Manager oversees the delivery and coordination of care during the evening shift. This individual manages care plans and related documentation, reinforces best practices, acts as primary liaison with families and other care providers, coordinates staffing resources for the shift, and provides primary nursing care when needed. The successful candidate will be an RN in the State of Vermont, with a minimum of two years of clinical oversight experience in a long term care or related setting. S/he will demonstrate a solid understanding of geriatric care delivery, and the ability to lead and communicate with others in a positive and supportive manner.

Staff Nurse (LPN or RN)

Employment Status: Full Time Days

Therapeutic Recreation Assistant

Employment Status: Full-Time

Our Therapeutic Recreation Assistant plans and implements individual and group based therapeutic recreation programs for our residents. We seek candidates with prior experience designing and initiating activities that focus on age appropriate sensory, auditory, and physical activities programming for seniors. Candidates with a bachelors’ degree in therapeutic recreation services, psychology, human services, or prior experience with providing recreational programming for senior populations highly preferred.

Thank you for your interest in the new Wake Robin LNA training program. 

Wake Robin, in partnership with Vermont Med Ed, is pleased to create training opportunities that can ultimately lead to stable and fulfilling employment at Wake Robin for the right candidates.

At Wake Robin, we are interested providing access to training builds excellent skills as a nursing assistant and, as importantly, promotes a resident-centered care approach that sets Wake Robin apart from the rest.

Here’s how our program works:

  • Please complete and submit the employment application to indicate your interest in our program.  Under “position applying for” indicate LNA Training Program.  Also include a resume if you have one.
  • We will screen each candidate. Those with a background in care-giving for similar populations will be preferred. Top candidates will be invited to Wake Robin for an interview and a tour of the facility.
  • Those selected for the program will be offered temporary paid employment with Wake Robin for the duration of the course.
  • Those who pass the course with the recommendation of the instructor, and pass the LNA exam, will be offered continued full or part-time employment as an LNA at Wake Robin for the next available opening (generally a day or evening shift).
  • The cost of the program is $1,950. This fee does not include the cost of testing or licensure. If you become an LNA at Wake Robin, we will waive ½ of this fee.  We can also make arrangements to support a modest repayment plan based on your income.

Course schedule:

  • Start date:  We project our start date to be May 30, 2017. This projection may change and is dependent on program certification.
  • Course Duration 5 weeks
  • Every M/W/F
    • Classroom training from 9:00 to 5:00
    • Clinical training (in the final week) 7:00 to 3:00
