Inspiring Film Brings Hope for Climate Crisis

Wake Robin is well known for its commitment to sustainability and involvement in countering climate change. This is a very “green” community. There is a resident committee here called Eating for Sustainability and they were very excited to do a repeat showing of a film they said, “left us upbeat and hopeful!!”

A small group got to see the film Kiss the Ground last April. They were very impressed with the message and wanted many more people to see it. It shares a solution to our climate crisis that is a whole new way of looking at the issue: regenerative agriculture.

Narrated and featuring Woody Harrelson, Kiss the Ground is an inspiring and groundbreaking film that reveals the first viable solution to our climate crisis. Kiss the Ground reveals that, by regenerating the world’s soils, we can stabilize Earth’s climate, restore lost ecosystems, and create abundant food supplies. Using compelling graphics and visuals, along with striking NASA and NOAA footage, the film artfully illustrates how, by drawing down atmospheric carbon, soil is the missing piece of the climate puzzle. The film is an 84-minute glimpse into regenerative agriculture in the United States.

The committee went further to highlight what is happening in Vermont and is pairing the showing with a presentation by Northeast Organic Farming Association in the Wake Robin meeting room next month. The Wake Robin Resident Association has several committees devoted to various aspects of climate change, they bring and support many sustainability activities on our campus, and they belong to a national group called SSAVE (Senior Stewards Acting for the Environment). Color us GREEN!
